 BerthReady Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 24, 2026

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BerthReady handles information when you use the BerthReady application on iPhone or iPad.

 Summary

BerthReady does not require an account and does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, cross-app tracking, cloud sync, or an external artificial-intelligence service. Your boat profiles, berth details, calibrations, scenarios, settings, and saved plans are stored locally on your device.

When you explicitly request automatic environmental conditions, the coordinates of the selected berth are sent to the weather and marine-data providers described below so that they can return information for that location.

 Information Stored on Your Device

Depending on the features you use, BerthReady may store the following information locally:

- Boat name, type, dimensions, propulsion, and handling characteristics

- Berth name, marina name, latitude, longitude, and dock geometry

- Crew count and planning selections

- Boat calibration information

- Generated plans, briefings, condition snapshots, and plan history

- App preferences and onboarding status

This information is used to provide the app's planning, briefing, history, and personalization features. It is not uploaded to a BerthReady-operated server because BerthReady currently does not operate user accounts, cloud storage, or a backend database.

Information stored by the app may be included in device backups managed by Apple, depending on your device and iCloud backup settings. Those backups are governed by your agreement with Apple and Apple's privacy practices.

 Berth Location and Map Data

BerthReady allows you to select or enter a berth location. A saved berth coordinate describes the berth you choose; the app does not request continuous device-location access or track your movements.

The berth coordinate is stored locally and is used to display the berth on a map, interpret environmental effects relative to the dock, and request automatic conditions when you choose to do so.

Map content is provided through Apple's mapping services and is subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.

 Automatic Weather and Marine Conditions

Automatic conditions are optional. Manual entry remains available.

When you request automatic conditions, BerthReady sends the selected berth's latitude and longitude to:

- **Apple Weather / WeatherKit**, to obtain wind and related forecast information. Apple's processing is governed by Apple's legal terms and privacy practices.

- **Open-Meteo Marine API**, to obtain marine current estimates. The request may also expose standard network information, such as your IP address, to Open-Meteo. Open-Meteo states that troubleshooting logs may contain IP addresses and geographic coordinates and that individual log files are deleted after 90 days.

BerthReady uses the returned information to display conditions and generate dock-relative planning guidance. BerthReady does not use it for advertising, user profiling, or tracking across apps or websites.

Third-party forecast providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their availability, retention practices, and policies may change independently of BerthReady.

 Information BerthReady Does Not Collect

The current version of BerthReady does not collect or maintain:

- Account credentials

- Your name, email address, or telephone number through the app

- Contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or health information

- Advertising identifiers

- Payment or purchase information

- Analytics or advertising profiles

- Data used to track you across apps or websites

If you voluntarily contact support by email, your email address, message, and any information you choose to include will be received and used only to respond to your request, investigate the issue, maintain necessary support records, and comply with legal obligations. Email is processed by the email providers used by you and by BerthReady support.

 Data Sharing and Sale

BerthReady does not sell your personal information. BerthReady does not share locally stored boat, berth, or plan records with advertisers or data brokers.

Selected berth coordinates and standard network information are processed by Apple Weather and Open-Meteo only when you request the relevant automatic-condition features, as described above. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or a valid legal process.

 Retention and Deletion

Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete the applicable record or remove the app. You can delete individual content using the controls available in BerthReady. Deleting BerthReady from your device removes its locally stored app data, subject to any device backups maintained by Apple.

Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, resolve issues, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting **spercin@gmail.com**, subject to records that must be retained by law.

Third-party providers control the retention of information they process. Open-Meteo currently states that individual API log files are deleted after 90 days. Refer to each provider's current privacy materials for details.

 Your Choices

You may:

- Use manual conditions instead of requesting automatic weather or marine data

- Edit or delete saved records within the app

- Delete the app to remove its locally stored information

- Manage device backups through your Apple device and iCloud settings

- Contact us to ask a privacy question or request deletion of support correspondence

Because BerthReady does not operate user accounts or a backend database, there is no BerthReady server account to access or delete.

 Children's Privacy

BerthReady is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so that it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

 International Processing

The third-party services used for weather, marine data, mapping, and email may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and applicable law.

 Security

BerthReady minimizes data collection and keeps planning records locally. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, including a device passcode and current operating-system updates.

 Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when BerthReady's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will display a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
