Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How does the AI disease detection work? HiveSight uses on-device and cloud-based machine learning models to analyze the photos you take of your frames. For the best results, ensure your photos are well-lit and in focus.

  • Do I need an internet connection at the apiary? Core features, including logging your hive inspections and saving offline notes, work entirely without an internet connection. AI image analysis may require a connection depending on your device, and data will sync automatically once you are back online.

  • How do I delete my data or account? You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated apiary data directly within the app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account.

  • Can I export my hive inspection logs? Yes. You can export your data in CSV format from the Settings menu to keep your own backups or share them with other beekeepers.

Troubleshooting

  • The app crashes when opening the camera: Please ensure you have granted HiveSight permission to access your camera in your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

  • Location services aren't working: HiveSight uses your location to provide accurate local weather and log apiary sites. Check that location permissions are enabled under Settings > HiveSight > Location.
